The All New 2009 Art of the Envelope Awards.

After the enormous success of last year's Art of the Envelope Awards, it's time to start thinking envelope once again. Aside from a fabulous party, the 2008 show saw some great entries recognised as winners and finalists - you can view the awarded work right here on this web site. Keep checking back and we'll keep you in the loop as the 2009 show approaches. We can't wait to see how far you can push the envelope this year.

Candida awarded PEFC and FSC "Chain of Custody" Certification.

On the 7th of October Candida Stationery received "Chain of Custody" certification from both the PEFC (Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes) and the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council).

Candida Papers are 5 Star!

Candida Stationery is now able to offer a range of papers that meet the New Zealand Government's three to five star rating, as defined in the Ministry for the Environment's "Paper Buyers Guide".

It seems that with the opportunity to win even more prizes this year there was a significant 40% increase in the number of entries received. Candida Stationery and New Zealand Post, along with sponsors CourierPost, Kinetic 121, and Marketing Association wish to thank all those who entered the Candida Art of the Envelope competition in 2007, and look forward to seeing you again in 2008. Awards ceremonies were again held in Auckland and Wellington.

‘Candida Stationery’ yacht wins 24 hour Yacht Race.

Matt Coutts and Chris Kitchen were overall winners of the 24 hour yacht race on Auckland’s Lake Pupuke, sailing their Laser class yacht sponsored by Candida Stationery.

Christmas Charity for Neurological Foundation of NZ

As a New Zealand owned family business Candida Stationery takes its community involvement seriously.

Once again for this year, in lieu of Christmas gifts, Candida selected a charity to make a donation, this year to the Neurological Foundation of NZ

We thank all our customers and suppliers for their support during the year, and their understanding for our donation to the Neurological Foundation.

Their work seeks to alleviate suffering from diseases and disorders of the brain and nervous system through research and education

Candida maintains its support for the Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust

Due to it's overwhelming success and support in previous years, the fifth annual Art of the Envelope competition will be launched in early April and close on the 3rd of July 2006.

Our 2004 Christmas card which many of you would have received was awarded a Gold medal in the 'Pride in Print' Awards for 2005

Every year Candida Stationery looks to design and produce an 'own use' self promotion Christmas card in an endeavour to highlight the capacity and capability of Candida's internal resources. The 2004 card is the fourth in a recent series to develop a card from within the parameters of an envelope.

The Houses were chosen by our staff as their Christmas charity.

Ronald McDonald Houses provide a home away from home for families with seriously ill children throughout New Zealand who have to travel away from their home town for specialist medical treatment..

The Candida Art of the Envelope - 2004 competition launched this week promises to be a keenly contested event this year with two iMacs© and a host of Palm™ handhelds as prizes.

An additional category has been added - 'Mailed Masterpieces' caters for previous mailers using Candida Envelopes.

Entries close on May 31, 2004.

Candida supports several charities on an ongoing basis including Westpac Rescue Helicopter, the Newstalk ZB Special Childrens Party, and the Wellington and Christchurch Child Flight Trusts.

As a New Zealand owned family business we take our community involvement seriously and so this year have chosen to donate to charity rather than giving Christmas gifts to customers.

The Christmas charity we have chosen this year is "CanTeen".

CanTeen's moto is "Supporting Young People Living With Cancer", they support young people aged 13 - 24 living with cancer, and their siblings. Their aim is to ensure that no young person in New Zealand should go through the cancer experience alone.

We thank all our customers for their support during the year and their understanding for this donation to CanTeen.

New Zealanders post more than one billion letters per year, and letters continue to be an important way of communicating.

This year New Zealand Post has been running its “Better Letters” programme in schools for Years 4 – 6, to encourage written communication, including how to write, address and post them.

Candida in conjunction with “Better Letters” ran a “Design an Envelope” competition including supplying the MaxPOP envelopes for each entry.

There were over 20,000 entries received from school children throughout NZ and the Pacific.

The President and Chairman of the EMA visited New Zealand recently. They were welcomed during a formal dinner and presentation by our Managing Director, Mr Paul Connolly.

The event was attended by several industry leaders where the President of the EMA Mr Maynard Benjamin, and the Chairman Mr Brooks Bower presented an overview on the envelope and the future of mail.

Helping with the Power Crisis.....

Candida is playing its part to help achieve the national 10% saving requested by government.

As one of many power saving measures taken we have cut the floodlighting on our paper store.... so if you are driving along Auckland's northern motorway at night you will no longer see this distinctive building.

You will see us again when the 'crisis' is over.
